What can NATBO do for YOU?

Qualified members benefit from the opportunity NATBO provides for them to work cooperatively to strengthen the competitive position of independent tax firms, as a group, in the tax industry. NATBO’s mission is to enable its members to ensure the continuing growth and profitability of their tax businesses in the face of stiff competition from national tax firms and non-tax businesses competing for shares of the tax preparation market. This will be accomplished, in part, by harnessing the considerable collective intellectual capital of NATBO members, and by negotiating as a group to secure favorable prices and terms for goods and services used by members in conducting their tax businesses.

NATBO will help its members to acquire/develop and integrate systematic business operating methods and best practices. For example, NATBO strongly encourages its members to e-file all tax returns that qualify for IRS e-filing. A key program of NATBO is the maintenance and enhancement of the popular E-Filing Today web site as a core resource for independent tax business owners. NATBO will also educate its members in the benefits and use of such methods and practices; and will educate the general taxpaying public in the benefits to be derived from patronizing NATBO member firms. In addition, NATBO will represent its members’ interests in discussions of IRS and legislative matters impacting the income tax preparation industry.
